RTE star Fran McNulty says he got “second chance at life” as he found love again.
The Prime Time host got engaged to his RTE producer partner, Doireann O’Hara.

Fran popped the question last New Year’s Day on Doolough beach in Mayo.
The popular presenter and his fiancee often visit his holiday home in Doolough but live in Dublin together.
The town holds a special place in Fran’s heart and he even plans to retire there one day but “it won’t be for a good while yet”.
The happy couple are set to get married on December 7, three days before his 45th birthday.
Fran’s first marriage ended around 6 years ago and he’s over the moon to find love again.
The 44-year-old told RTE Guide: “Meeting Doireann is that second chance in life that you never think you’d get.”
However, the happy occasion doesn’t come without heartbreak for Fran as his two brothers sadly passed away before he turned 24.
The Longford native explained: “I was the youngest in a house where there was a lot of illness. Derek had cystic fibrosis and died at the age of five, before I was born.
“Gary had epilepsy and multiple complexities and Gillian also has cystic fibrosis.”
Fran spoke about his heartbreak that his brother Gary, who died suddenly in 2004 following an epileptic seizure, won’t be at his big day.
He said: “He was a great character, so much fun to be around and there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think of him. I also think of what could be.
“Gary should be at my wedding, but he won’t be. Even 20 years on, those life events catch you and I think, ‘Jesus, Gary should be here’.”
Fran tries to stay positive and lives “every day like it’s his last” as he knows “life can be over in a flash”.
The popular presenter’s sister Gillian will be playing a significant role in his wedding.
Fran told: “I don’t have my two brothers with me any more, but Gillian will be there and that’s huge for me.”
The RTE star and his fiancee Doireann are just back from their sun holiday.
The pair went to Rome, Italy, together and said they had a “blissful time”.
