HOST SHAKE-UP

The celebrity weatherman joined Katja Mia on the Six O’Clock Show last Monday and is hosting the hit evening chat show for two weeks.

This means that Deric has taken a break from his Ireland AM segments.

Alan Hughes introduced Eric to viewers on last Monday’s show saying: “Now Deric’s away this week so we called up a familiar face to lend a hand.”

Eric, who was reporting live from Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown, said: “Deric is off this week, I’m stepping in.

“I told him last year, when he interviewed me in Donegal, that I’d be taking his job someday and here we are.

“I’ve big shoes to fill but I’m excited for the challenge.”
