PATRICK HORGAN has crafted a record-breaking career as the talisman of the Cork senior hurlers.
He crossed the 700-point barrier for the Rebels in their stunning All-Ireland hurling semi-final win over Limerick.
And that record was added to a CV that already boasts three Munster hurling titles and four All-Stars, amongst a laundry list of other accolades.
But he is more than just a hurler, as he is a devoted family man, with a loving wife and GAA-mad young son.
Here, SunSport takes a look at the man behind the hurl.
How old is Patrick Horgan?
Patrick Horgan was born on May 5, 1988, making him 36 years of age.
The Blackpool-native started his GAA journey with Glen Rovers, with whom he won minor, U21, and senior hurling championships.
He made his senior inter-county debut in March 2008 and has racked up over 150 appearances for the Rebels, as well as provincial hurling titles at minor, U21, and senior level.
Is he married?
Patrick is married to his wife Ashley Lovett.
They tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in November 2019.
Their wedding took place at the Church of St Mary’s in Ballincollig before they partied the night away at the Maryborough Hotel & Spa.
Cork star Alan Cadogan and former manager Kieran Kingston were among the invited guests on the day.
Horgan wore a light grey blazer worn over a matching dark grey waistcoat and trousers with a white tie.
Does he have any kids?
Patrick and Ashley have one son together, Jack, who was born in April 2022.
Horgan shared a photo of the new arrival upon his birth, with the pic depicting mother and baby in matching onesies.
Just like his dad, Jack Horgan is a GAA fanatic, and has shared in Hoggie’s historic season in 2024.
When Cork beat defending champions Limerick in the All-Ireland semi-final, his son was at Croke Park for the game.
Not only that, but the two-year-old was brought onto the pitch to celebrate with his father in front of the jubilant Cork supporters.
Videos of the moment in question was shared to social media, with fans hailing it as a “lovely moment” while expressing hope that ‘Hoggey’ will be able to get his hands on an All-Ireland medal.
