WHEN it comes to weddings, there are several unwritten rules that all guests should follow – including never wearing white.
But one bride said her own mother broke that very rule…by not only matching her in white, but also opting for a very similar style of gown.

While the revelation has caused quite a stir online, with some accusing the mother of “wanting attention,” the bride told it was actually her idea.
In a clip shared to TikTok (@eringinariley), Erin Gina Hammond and her mum can both be seen wearing white off-the-shoulder frocks as they get ready on the morning of Erin’s big day.
As her mum helps to do up the back of her gown, Erin says: “POV: You don’t care that your mum wore white on your wedding day.”
She captioned the post: “She originally wanted to wear green but we both fell in love with this white dress!”
It wasn’t long before the post went viral, racking up a whopping 573k views and hundreds of comments – with very mixed responses online.
Several people were not on board with the idea and suggested that only the bride should be in white on her big day.
“No only the bride. The mother wants all the attention,” wrote one.
Erin hit back: “It was me that picked her dress!”
A second questioned: “Who’s getting married?”
A third joked: “Can honestly say she looks beautiful but if my mum rocks up to my wedding next week in Greece in white she’s getting chucked in the pool head first.”
Elsewhere, others loved the idea of their mums being the only other wedding guest allowed to wear white on their daughter’s big day.
“I made my mum wear white! I wanted her to stand out! Love it!” one person commented.
Another noted: “My mum would be the only one allowed tbhhh.”
A third agreed: “It’s absolutely not acceptable to wear white to someone’s wedding UNLESS it’s your mum.
“I actually think that’s lovely she is the reason you are here.”
Elsewhere, one more chimed in: “I love this!!! and even you guy’s dresses are similar, a little ‘I’ll always be your little girl’ moment.”
