RTE Kin star Emmett J Scanlan has shared a sweet throwback to the moment he proposed to his wife.
The Fool Me Once actor has three kids, 22-year-old Kayla from a previous relationship and Ocean-Torrin and Fiain-Luna with his wife Claire Cooper.
Emmett took to his Instagram today to share a sweet throwback video with fans.
The video was from ten years ago, Christmas Eve 2014, the day he proposed to his now wife, Claire.
In the video, surrounded by family, Emmett walks over to his wife holding a small box.
As he opens the box he begins to get down on one knee, everyone in the room drops their jaws in shock.
Claire instantly bursts into tears covering her face in shock, unable to contain her emotions.
As he pops the question, you can see Claire shake her head in agreement and Emmett pulls her in for a heartfelt embrace.
Emmett captioned the sweet post: “Ten years ago today I got down on one knee to propose to my then girlfriend.
“I could have done it anywhere, in front of anyone, but I wanted to do it at home, my family home, in front of my surprised family. I wanted her and indeed myself to be surrounded by love when it happened. Probably cause I was nervous as f***.
“But why wouldn’t I be? As far as anyone knew I was never gonna get married. As far as I knew that was a commitment I wasn’t prepared to make… I wasn’t that guy. Could never be that guy.
“That was until I met someone that made it impossible for me not too be.
“Also truth be told I figured I could drag the engagement out for the next 10 years, just in case…
“Less than 10days later she had our venue and wedding planner booked and paid for.
“I was going nowhere. She made sure of that. And I’m glad she did. Mostly…”
Friends and fans raced to the actor’s comment section to gush over the adorable milestone.
One fan said: “Oh oh…I’ve got something in my eye.”
Ashley wrote: “Oh my days…. i’m getting soft… tears shed!”
Ellen commented: “Happy proposal anniversary, and merry Christmas to you and yours.”
