She said: “Clara + Ronan

“Sometimes the universe deals you a hand you aren’t prepared for.

“For these guys – it was a power cut for almost the entirety of their wedding day, stressful – absolutely, but it wouldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces.

“That’s what it’s all about”

As she suggested, the weather and associated turmoil did little to dampen the spirits of the newly weds.

Alongside a loving photo of her with her new husband, Clara said: “The McNamees

“Grateful to anyone who made this special day happen”

Ronan McNamee retired from inter-county football in October 2023.

The Aghyaran clubman, 33, made his SFC debut for Tyrone against Kerry in 2012 and became a mainstay at full-back.

He helped them win an All-Ireland in 2021 and is the first player from that squad to retire from inter-county duty after 12 seasons of service.

McNamee also won Ulster titles in 2016, 2017 and 2021 and claimed an All-Star in 2019.

A Tyrone GAA statement said McNamee “embodied the spirit of the Red Hand County”.

“Rónán stood tall in moments of triumph and adversity,” added the statement.

“He played a key role when the Sam Maguire Cup returned to Tyrone in 2021, a moment that will forever be etched in the hearts of us all.

“And he was there in the challenging times, pushing his body to the limits and demonstrating unwavering resilience.

“Thank you for your years of service, your unwavering commitment, and your indomitable spirit. Slán go fóill, a Rónáin!”
