AHEAD of his Limerick comeback, Shane Dowling had another reason to celebrate.
Dowling, 31, married long time partner Paula Donnelly in a beautiful wedding ceremony on Friday.

The couple tied the knot at Hotel Doolin in County Clare with bride Paula looking beautiful in a fitted white dress with long sleeves and a plunging neckline.
Shane shared the first snap from their wedding, which sees the new Mr and Mrs sharing a kiss while posing outside, on Saturday and told his followers it was a ‘special day’.
The couple’s DJ also shared a few glimpses at their celebrations, with a video showing the wedding guests getting into the party spirit and waving light-up sticks around on the dancefloor.
December has quickly become the busiest month of the year for the pair.
In December 2022 Dowling popped the question to partner Paula amid the familiar surroundings of Adare Manor.
Last December they shared news of the birth of their son Tommy.
They were showered with well wishes in the comments section, with one posting: “Massive congratulations to you both (and Tommy)!
“Wishing you all the happiness for the future!”
Dowling will exit retirement next month to line out for Limerick’s hurlers once again next month – but this time as a goalkeeper.
Still only 31, he was sensationally drafted back in to the fold by manager John Kiely earlier this week.
It could wind up being a story straight out of Hollywood if Limerick go on to reclaim Liam MacCarthy in 2025.
His time as a dependable scoring force for The Treaty was brought to a premature halt in 2020 due to chronic knee injuries.
However, he has since reinvented himself between the sticks for his club Na Piarsaigh.
And one man’s misfortune is another man’s opportunity as Nickie Quaid’s ACL tear opened up a spot on the county pre-season panel which Kiely has now filled with his former free-taker.
