Marty and his wife Maria stepped out to attend the first night of Peter Pan at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin City this week.

The Lyric FM presenter and his wife looked as happy as ever as they stood outside the iconic theatre for a quick snap.

The 68-year-old grinned wide as he held onto his brochure for the popular panto.

Maria looked festive in an all-white look comprised of white pants, jumper and knit scarf.

While at the opening night of the show, Marty told Evoke that it will be a very special Christmas this year.

Back in March, Marty’s daughter Jessica welcomed her first child, Lily Nora.

Lily’s arrival means this will be the star’s first festive season as a grandad.

Marty said: “We’ve always loved Christmas we’re kind of a Christmassy house and we dress the house and the tree and all that carry on.

“We’re staying home with our lovely family. We have a granddaughter now so that’s turned everything upside down so we’re at home in our house.

“We look forward to putting the pretend birds on the tree, I mean it’s not that we go out and sing carols or anything but also the fact that we as a family always get together.”

He added: “We have two children, they have partners, they all come to us and it’s just family as it should be if you can and the world we’re in we don’t know what’s going on so it’s even more important right now.”

Other star’s spotted in attendance at the opening night of the iconic panto was Baz Ashmawy and his family, along with RTE Radio 2 presenter, Lottie Ryan with her family, singer Paul Ryder, Louise Duffy and magician Keith Barry.

Recently Marty eyed up a huge new presenting role at RTE.

BIG GIG

Marty put his hand forward to host the Irish rendition of hit BBC reality game show Traitors.

The Traitors has been a massive hit for the BBC over the past two years and is set to go into its third season.

In early October, RTE announced they had commissioned an Irish edition of the hit show, with no presenter announced, as of yet.

The game show calls for people who can “lie and connive” to compete for a €50,000 prize.

However, Marty is already employing his own tactics to try and take the helm of the huge show: “There are lots of people who want to do Traitors. I am a very enthusiastic fella, I love radio but the TV would be lovely to do again.”
