IRELAND AM star Alan Hughes has shared a sweet tribute to his “beautiful husband”.
The Virgin Media host and his husband Karl Broderick celebrated a special milestone yesterday as they have been together for 31 years.

The happy couple got married around this time 13 years ago in 2011.
The pair marked the special occasion with a romantic staycation.
They stayed in the four-star hotel, Barberstown Castle Hotel, which is located in Kildare.
Alan took to Instagram last night to share some stunning snippets of their getaway.
The Dublin native captioned his post: “Happy anniversary my beautiful husband 31 years together.
“We spent a lovely night celebrating at Barberstown Castle Hotel and what a treat it was.
“Everyone was so lovely and food and surrounding beautiful.”
Alan and Karl got all dolled up to enjoy a delicious meal and a glass of bubbly at the hotel.
They made sure to capture the happy memory as they posed for a smiling snap.
Alan’s friends and fans all rushed to the comment section with congratulations.
Janet said: “Aww happy anniversary to both of you. Here’s to many more.”
Noonan wrote: “31 years, wow that’s incredible. You two are so lucky to have found each other.”
Anne commented: “Congratulations you gorgeous pair, welcome to the next 31 years.”
Roche remarked: “Ahhh massive congratulations and happy anniversary to you both, Alan.”
HATE HELL
The presenter was one of the first openly gay men on Irish TV when he appeared on Ireland AM 25 years ago.
Alan has said he still has to endure vile abuse on nights out with husband Karl.
The 60-year-old told The Irish Sun: “We were out walking down Grafton Street and people were shouting at us.
“Karl was going to turn around and say something, but I said, ‘Don’t Karl, it’s not worth it’.”
And Alan told us the abuse is unlikely to ever stop.
He said: “There will always be bigots and always be people who don’t like gay people and I just live my life with Karl.
“You get it (abuse) and it happens. I don’t think it will ever change. How can we make it stop? We can’t.
“There are always going to be ignorant people in the world, who don’t know any better.”
